Race Day Info - All race numbers, chips and information leaflets will be posted out approximately 10 days before race day.
Parking – Parking will be available on the day next to the race start and finish at the Britannia Stadium. Parking will be free of charge to all race competitors and supporters.
Race village – The race village will be located close to the finish of the race and will include first aid facilities, toilets, bag drop, sports massage plus other facilities to be announced
Capacity – The 2015 Potteries marathon will have a capacity of 2000 runners.
Chip timing – Individual times will be recorded with chip timing supplied by FR systems.
Cut off – There will be a 7 hour cut off time for the race. Roads will be opened on a rolling basis at a pace of approximately 15mins per mile. Anyone not able to keep up with this pace is advised to run on the pavement and continue entirely at their own risk.
Injuries / Deferral – Once your entry has been accepted we cannot refund or defer your entry, you may however pass it on to a fellow runner, but please make sure you let us know the new runners details.
Headphones – Headphones will not be allowed to be worn during the running of the race due to safety concerns. Any competitor seen using headphones will be eligible for disqualification and may be removed from the race
Qualifying Times – There are no qualifying times for entry to the Potteries marathon 2015. We are currently working with the relevant agencies to ensure that the Potteries Marathon 2015 will be eligible for qualifying times for other races (London, Boston etc)
Drinks – Drinks stations will be placed at regular intervals along the course. Drinks will be supplied in bottles.
Mile markers – Mile markers will appear along the length of the course
Pacers – There are currently no plans to have a pace team
Relays / Change Points – There will be a relay option for teams of 4 runners, the first and last runner will have a chip attached to the back of their number bib, all relay runners must make their own way to the change over points, the last relay team runner of the leading team must not be in front of the full marathon runner or overtake the lead bike/car.
The change over locations are: 1. The junction of Carberry Way/Glandore Road, 2. Leek New Road under the A5272 Hanley Road bridge, 3. A53/Seabridge Lane, inside the park.
If you are in a team of 3 or less, you decide were you will change over, the relay is a fun event and there are no prizes.
